SHIPPING INFORMATION

Coup de Foudre, LLC will ship to almost any address in the world. The tables below describe many of the possible shipping options. Basically, there are three routes toward a shipping goal: fastest, cheapest, or a combination of the two. Choosing the fastest delivery usually means it will also be the most expensive option while shipping via the cheapest method will take the longest delivery time. Unless instructed otherwise we try to find some middle ground and get your purchase to you within as short a time as possible — while costing you as little as possible. Please remember, though, that the following tables are guides we provide you, the browser or buyer, to enable you to estimate delivery costs. Final shipping charges are based on what it really costs us to get the package to you. Payment may be made through a variety of methods.

Shipping Within the United States

(includes APO/FPO addresses and Puerto Rico)

To find out when you will receive an item you need to consider the shipping option you selected. If you select Standard Shipping (which usually means First Class or Priority Mail,) you can expect to receive the item at your front door 4 to 9 days after you place your order and pay by credit card or PayPal.  ( That is: 1 to 2 days for our packing + circa 3 to 7 days for carrier delivery.) Paying by a method other than a credit card or PayPal will affect your delivery time. (See our Payment page.)

Please note that the prices below DO NOT reflect insurance coverage (circa 5% of the item's cost) which is added to the shipping cost.

Standard shipping for APO/FPO addresses, P.O. Boxes, and U.S. protectorate addresses is via the U.S. Postal System.

An additional fee of $10 will be charged for 2nd Day Air shipments made to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. A $15 charge will be assessed for Next Day Air shipments to the same destinations.

Shipping to Guam, American Samoa, and Other U.S. Protectorates

Shipping to U.S. Protectorates

Packages to Guam, American Samoa, and other U.S. protectorates and territories are shipped via the United States postal system (our standard shipping) or, for express delivery, via USPS Global Priority. This means that for Standard shipping these addresses are considered U.S. addresses and for Express delivery these addresses are considered international and are subject to any duties and customs which may apply.

International Shipping Information

To find out when you will receive an item, you need to consider the shipping option you selected.

If you select World Mail, your shipping time will be 7 to 21 business days, depending on where you live. This means your total delivery time will be 1 or 2 days (packing) + 7 to 21 business days (shipping time). Therefore, you can expect to receive the item at your front door 8 to 23 business days after you place your order and pay by credit card or PayPal. Paying by a method other than a credit card or PayPal will affect your delivery time. (See our Payment page.)

A note about standard shipping: Packages sent via standard shipping go by surface mail. Shipping time varies widely depending on the destination. For example, in our experience, standard shipments take about 2 to 3 weeks to Canada, 6 weeks to the United Kingdom, 6 to 8 weeks to Japan and Australia, and 10 to 12 weeks to Brazil.

Important Shipping Facts

If your goods are not delivered to you within 14 days of the dispatch date you must notify us immediately, otherwise we cannot accept responsibility for the lost goods. You will be notified of the dispatch date by e-mail or letter shortly after we have received your order.

Any claim arising from damage in transit must be made both to the carrier and to Coup de Foudre, LLC within 14 days of receipt of the goods. If you sign for the delivered package before checking the number of packages and their condition then you relieve Coup de Foudre, LLC (and, perhaps, the carrier too) of responsibility for loss or damage in transit. With this in mind, PLEASE CHECK THE CASES AND CONTENTS IMMEDIATELY UPON RECEIPT. Goods seen to be damaged should be signed "Damaged in transit" and packaging materials should be preserved for inspection. A signature with the endorsement "Not examined" or similar is not acceptable and neither Coup de Foudre, LLC nor our carrier will accept responsibility for damaged goods if so endorsed. Damaged goods must be reported within 14 days of delivery otherwise Coup de Foudre, LLC cannot accept responsibility.

Shipping Special Items

Due to laws and regulations, we are not able to ship some merchandise to all destinations.

• If you are ordering items incorporating materials from endangered species please inquire.
• We do ship framed and glazed items domestically (only) but special considerations apply. Please inquire.

Please also note that, due to size and weight constraints, some items may ship separately from the remainder of your order. You will not be charged more than the amount you have previously authorized at the time you place your order.

Shipments that are extremely oversized or weigh over 75 pounds require an adult signature upon delivery. Sorry, but we are unable to deliver these shipments to APO or FPO addresses at this time. Total shipping charges for such deliveries is indicated on your invoice. Once your order leaves our warehouse you will be contacted by the shipper to arrange a specific time for delivery. Also, there may be an additional packing delay on our end for items needing the security of wooden crating.

A Next Day Air Cautionary Note

Upgrading to Next Day Air does not necessarily mean you will get your order the next day.
Once shipped, Next Day Air packages are guaranteed to arrive at the end of the next business day. Note the words "once shipped", however. Upgrading your shipment to Next Day or 2nd Day Air does not change how long it takes us to assemble and ship your order - it only reduces the travel time after your order leaves our premises. For example, an item upgraded to Next Day Air will usually leave our premises by the end of the next business day and reach you on the 3rd or 4th business day. We do try to expedite orders, at customer request, if we are able.

International Shipping Restrictions

Due to laws, regulations and our own in-house rules we are not able to ship all products to all destinations.

• Feathered and ivory items will be shipped to destinations allowable by local laws. Please check on your law before buying. We do add a small charge for the paperwork we must complete and the U.S. fees we must pay when applying for Export Permits.
• Framed and glazed items will be shipped only to destinations within the U.S. If you wish to buy such an item and have it shipped elsewhere we will disassemble it, remove the glass and ship the item and the frame and mat. If the frame is an antique one we will insure it for our estimated value of its worth. We do not acept responsibility for damage to shipped frames and mats - ever! If you wish to buy only the item and not the mat and frame we may, or may, not reduce the price of the item as we see fit. There are no return privileges on disassembled items.
• There may be other restrictions that apply to your international shipment. Please inquire.

Customs Information

You may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once the package reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information. Additionally, when ordering from Coup de Foudre LLC, you are considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country in which you are receiving the goods.

Customs Forms for all international packages list the value of your order's contents by product type. For instance, an order containing a book and a print will be listed as follows:
